Why is communism bad?

Could someone type me up an essay about why communism would be bad. I don't understand what communism is. Please provide many details. Thanks

it's one of those things that works in theory, but when put into practice it's seen that corruption is far too easy to attain, thus bringing about the downfall of all its good aspects.

like in Orwell's "animal farm"... all animals are equal... but some are more equal than others.

Someone's got a project on Communism...and it ain't me :D

Try turning the topic around on your Prof...Why Communism is better than Capitalism :D

Communism is the final stage of the political reform started witha revolution, according to Marx. First masses of workers will rebel in a industrialezed country; they will implant a socialist government in order to adapt the country for later changes. After private property is banished, and the people possess everything, thenthere will be no need for government, thus the state will be destroyed, to form a society with no social classes. It important to remember that Marx knew that the mentality of man needed to change in order of this to work. He believe in the concept of the "new man" who was humble and just. It is also important to remeber did not believe in a country alone with this structure, but he believed that the whole world adapt to this change. Given this, it is safe to say that no country has ever achieved communism, and anyone who has a sense of equality do agree with this utopia.
No, Russia was not communist, neither is Cuba.

socialist government in order to adapt the country for later changes
Is there an echo in here?

After private property is banished, and the people possess everything
Huh? Gives a whole new meaning to the comedy sketch "Take my wife...please."

to form a society with no social classes.

In the dictionary under redundant it says "see redundant".

humble and just

Hey...I didn't write it..just cut/paste from the bloody internet. It's pretty fuckin' useless as a definintion

*blinks*

The "death before socialism" crowd are passing up a chance to edumacate a dude/dudette who is asking why communism is bad??

You lot are gettin' soft ;)

It's more entertaining for 'em to get the wrong impression & for us to straighten them out :D

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if any industrialized nations had tried Marx's ideas, since it was written for an industrial society. Russia wasn't very industrialized at the time, and China wasn't industrial either when it went red. Marx, meanwhile, was German, and Germany was industrialized.

It would have killed off all the incentives to create. Thereby stopping the "industrial revolution" dead in its tracks.

Communism is very similar to this thread. Instead of you working and writing the essay yourself, you expect everyone to contribute to the essay, thereby making the work less for everyone. The problem with communism is that there is still a leader, and it is far to easy for the leader to become corrupt.

Like Ash said it was a good idea on paper but those that practiced it screwed it up. and it gives absilute power to the govt.

it's a great THEORY

everyone does work, everyone gets fed, everyone is equal, same pay same costs etc.

but human nature si to be better than gus next store, so corruption sets in.

BTW works great on a small scale in isreal, kibbutzs, communal farms, small scale communism, and it's a wonderful life

I am not in high school or college. I have graduated college with an AAS degree in Electronics Technical. All I'd like to know is why communism is bad. So far I have found absolutely no reasons why.

In pure communism, there's no leader. That was one of Marx's shortcomings; he assumed the prolateriat wouldn't be corrupted when they overthrow the burgeoisie and gain the power themselves. Otherwise, great, great point. I know I'd be like, "what the fuck?" when I realized I did all kinds of work doing an essay, when I don't benefit at all.
