And with all these foreclosures I hope it grows! You can't discriminate against a citizens legal right to vote no matter how much you'd like to, so as far as I am concerned.....

:stfu:

markie, people should be made to take a short quiz on the issues of each candidate before they are allowed to vote. No pass/fail mind you.......just so they know what each one stands for, and not what the media tells them they stand for.

Look at what we got when the rocketscientists pulled the lever for "change" .

It benefits most everyone. It should not be paid for nor in any way controlled by the federal government. State, county and/or community taxes...not federal.
About 80% of my local taxes go toward my local school district. And it's quite a lot (because of the amount of land we own).

So, who has control of those funds? Your school or the Dept of Education?

The Department distributes financial aid to eligible applicants throughout the nation for elementary, secondary, and college education; for the education of individuals with disabilities and of those who are illiterate, disadvantaged, or gifted; and for the education of immigrants, American Indians, and people with limited English proficiency. Federal funds for education are distributed using three methods: a set formula, competition, and financial need.

We could reinstate and extend the Jim Crow Laws too, while we're at it. How about a poll tax as well? Ooops, watch out! Your true colors are showing. ;)
"Confederate states passed new constitutions or amendments that effectively disfranchised most blacks and tens of thousands of poor whites through a combination of poll taxes, literacy and comprehension tests, and residency and record-keeping requirements. Grandfather clauses temporarily permitted some illiterate whites to vote. Voter turnout dropped drastically through the South as a result of such measures."

Lucky for me, I don't live in the same restrictive, unjust America that you live in.

Good thing there weren't enough retards at the polls pulling the lever for that moron Palin.

Inquiring minds want to know: will you please state why you don't feel that I am a representative of a minority?

If you are a "minority" and if you are Black ("African American") then you are one hellofa retard for suggesting this country go back to voting rules that were once specifically used to keep Blacks from voting in this country. (Especially since whites were grandfathered in so they did not have to take the "competency" tests in order to vote.)

If you are white and to suggest this country bring back those same Jim Crow laws then you are just a generic, run-of-the-mill retard.

When you have something intelligent to say, please raise some sort of flag or provide some sort of announcement to clue us all in.

Good thing there weren't enough retards at the polls pulling the lever for that moron Palin. I'd actually like to see Palin be the Republican candidate in 2012 so I can watch her do another big, gigantic FAIL. I felt so bad for McCain getting shanked by his own party like that. What a cross to bear! LOL!

Redistribution of wealth by armed coercion. It sounds so, progressive.
Progressive? Barbaric! So these "rich" districts have to raise school taxes in order to meet their budgets. The "poor" districts don't have to do anything to meet their budgets, the money just rolls right in.

This is why we're considering filing for an Ag exemption next year. With over 40 acres you can not imagine how high our taxes are.

Once again, the predictable knee-jerk reaction from the self-absorbed hoity-toity librul.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion from my post as I said absolutely nothing re: "bring back the Jim Crow laws".

Apparently, you don't know the definition of "Jim Crow laws".

I suggested that the people who haven't a clue about how our system works and have absolutely no interest in it other than wanting to vote for "history" aren’t the ones who should be driving our politics.

You don't have to look any further than the Obots who publicly stated that they were supporting Obozo because he would pay their bills, or get them a better job, or provide them with housing as an example. They are the ignorant, uninformed voters who were swept up into the Celebrity Cult of Personality, motivated by their own self-interests, who handed this country over to socialists, and they overwhelmed the numbers who had gone to the trouble of educating themselves about candidates and issues.

In the U.S. the purpose of voting is to select people with the competence and integrity to direct the functioning of government as dictated by our Constitution, not to choose the candidate whose name and packaging is most appealing. For there to be any benefit to the country the election process requires that the choices be made on a reasoned basis. Name a benefit that has resulted from 0bama. "Change" doesn't qualify as a benefit.

I'm merely suggesting that some knowledge and some interest in public affairs should be demonstrated before a person gets their voter-registration card.

The people who would most espouse the system of socialism, should they grasp it's concept, then bitch about it when, as is always the case with socialism, it becasme clear that we're not ants in a colony. No workee no payee is more effective than no workee still payee when we all participate.

Again, I'm doing all your work for you. You should have looked this up yourself if you don't know what the Jim Crow Laws are (rather than staging yet another attack) ... Jim Crow Laws.
"Blacks were denied the right to vote by grandfather clauses (laws that restricted the right to vote to people whose ancestors had voted before the Civil War), poll taxes (fees charged to poor Blacks), white primaries (only Democrats could vote, only Whites could be Democrats), and literacy tests ("Name all the Vice Presidents and Supreme Court Justices throughout America's history"). Plessy sent this message to southern and border states: Discrimination against Blacks is acceptable."

I think the founding fathers got it right the first time,
regarding who should vote. If we went back to that it would solve
ALL the problems. ;) ;)
