I could offer refutes based on the obvious ... Lack of training, effect of surprise, that your graph offers nothing in the way of national and racial breakdowns ... but what's the point? You believe what you want, I'll believe what I want ... you'll always be able to pull up a graph saying what you want it to, and so will I. Just don't get in the way of my ownership, and I promise never to use it to defend you.

The founding fathers were prescient beyond anyone's
wildest dreams. It is up to us to protect their vision.

An unarmed citizenry is an enslaved people.

nope
that's some very flawed logic imo.

Responsible gun owners have their firearms correctly stowed away, unloaded and in a different location than the bullets. Stops the kidlets from playing with the firearms, right?

So..on the off chance that you're home and someone breaks in, how quickly can you get to your secured firearms, load'em and use them against someone who wants to stop you?

If the guns are ready at hand...on your hip are you're walking around the house (however unlikely that may be) or on the coffee-table next to you, or in your bedside desk (both rather unsecure locations), you should fall under the 25% of gun owners that get to use your gun against an aggressor..if you're the type of person to be able to shoot at another human being. Not everyone is..in fact, most aren't...it takes special training to get over the natural repulsion of hurting/killing another human being. Most will just aim and bluster, or fire off a warning shot.

If you are not home, and someone breaks in..you're going to lose that gun. It's easier to walk away with than a TV, a stereo, a bunch of CDs etc...and they'll fetch more money on the black market.

Your best form of self-defense/property defense at home? A dog...doesn't even have to be a big dog, just a noisy one.

(11 000 / 60 000 000) * 100 000 = 18.3333333

That's the high end... 11,000 gun crimes v. population of UK.
1,148,000 violent crimes..only 11,000 of them using a gun. Yup...gun-control works!

Actually, your best defense is usually illegal under most modern liberal laws protecting criminals. Now, while I know this will come as a huge shock to you, Bish .... I know several Us citizens who open carry .... all the time. 24/7 in their opinion. At home, at the dinner table, at the grocery store, at work .... everywhere they're legally able to. They don't worry about the kids picking up a gun ... because unlike most gun-fearers ... they've taught their kids about guns from day one. Just like every dog owner (should) train their dog that food on the table isn't for them, their kids have been taught that daddy's gun is off limits and not a toy. More importantly, they've no curiosity about guns, because dad takes them to the range with him, and they get the chance to shoot their own .117 guns. To rob these people's houses ... you'd literally have to go ninja. You'll not steal a gun when they're not there, because all the guns beyond their daily carry weapons are in gun safes. Plural.

But don't you worry. When someone forces your door, you call 911. After all, when seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

Would it surprise you that 90% of all guns used in crimes in Canada and close to the same percentage of crimes in Mexico came from the USA? Stolen guns.

Used by criminals in the commission of a crime?
My Gawd how do you people function?

How is the silly adage:

"if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns"

so hard for you to grasp?

The second amendment was enacted to keep us free from a
government that would enslave us, with what
has transpired in the last ten months, I can see why.

here guy talk translated

Now go get the stats for people getting stabbed in the UK. (animal attacks also)

You will find that knife attacks in the UK have climbed exponetially.

So either secure the god-damn borders or move your nation farther away.
