About the same things I've brought up in this thread.
I don't mind being warned, but it seems like there's no moderation at all for long periods of time and then I get a warning (twice) for doing something in response to someone who has been doing the exact same thing.
It was so important to look out for Cerise and defend her from misspelling her political groups name? Really? That's going to be all the moderation we can get in the RW?
The RW really needs more moderation. It's probably overwhelming for one person. And without much moderation it just gets stupid too often. More people would contribute if it wasn't so nasty and it would make the other forums here better I think.
I don't know who could help moderate, it should be someone on the other side of the fence or a moderate probably though.

Well, I tracked down as many registered moderators as would talk to me, and everyone had the same answer. You fuckers turned this place into a sewer and they want nothing more to do with it, until someone flushes the place clean and starts over ... if that. I'm paraphrasing, you understand. The gist is that they don't give a flying rat's ass, and all have declared themselves quit of this place, and have a hard time understanding why they haven't been replaced as moderators long since.

Time to get serious here. I'm not a prude and have seen many things in the form of insults, personal and otherwise. But the fact remains, there are a whole lot of guilty parties on this forum.
Very few are exeempt from immature and the less than pleasant terminology used in discussions. I fail to understand the need to use terms such as republic*nt, even in jest. Calling someone a libertard is looked at as making fun of a retarded person. Too critical? To politically correct? Maybe for some but not necessary in debate. Most of those terminologies went away after sixth grade. Or at least I thought they did.
And it seems when someone thinks they are on the downside of the discussion, they retort to using some form of insult reminiscent of grade school playground tactics. Something that adds nothing to a discussion other than to show a lack of respect for the other party.
We are all guilty. If Gonz feels Spike is in error, and he is being fair in his deliberations, then Spike must pay the price. But Gonz should be held to the same standards and punishments. As should everyone else.
But one thing for sure, Professur is right. This place has become a sewer and denigrated to a pretty low level. This forum was touted to me as a place where "intelligent" people engaged in debate. Well, the intelligent part applied once or twice but the remainder of the time it was like a group of "I'll piss you off before you can piss me off" and my insult will be better than yours.
Some of us need to look in the mirror and determine what our purpose is in posting here. If the design is to promote a cause or simply try to piss someone off, why not reconsider and try it the way the forum was intended. As a place for intelligent debate.

I applaud you, Frank. I have not got invovled in many conversations on this board for the simple reason of the childish behavior that goes on. I have been around this board a few years, even met Gonz. I know my post count does not reflect.
I myself find the reference to "retarded" very offensive and completly out of line. I do overlook it on most accounts, because I realize my passion is a much different mindset than most.
I think that everyone needs to step back and take a deep breath, realize that each of you have at one point done the exact same thing that Spike has been placed in Kiddie Korner for, that includes the very mod that placed Spike in here. Sorry Gonz, but I call like I see it. Everyone needs a slap on the hand every once in awhile, but the name calling as in reference to a certain party or person is childish and there is no need for it, period!

Been around, just lurking. I read almost all of the post, make my comments to myself and move on. I just felt that as an "outsider" for lack of a better word, I needed to comment on this one.
It's a shame that people take the online world so seriously. My gosh, if I did that I would do nothing but cry daily as I have recently hooked up with many of my elementary school, junior high and high school friends and there has been a whole lot of "childish antics" going on. I laugh, dish it back to them and all in a day it was worth it. The online world is entertainment for me, yes I have made some friendships along the way, that being said I would never dream of calling one of my "friends" retarded, a cunt, a blathering idiot or such, especially not on the internet when one could not see that I was teasing.

I am me, yes SNP and I are married, that does not mean that I agree with everything that he does, says or feels. As I am positive he does not agree with all of the above for me. I do stand behind him when he is right and will be the first to jump his ass when he is wrong.
I was never much of a poster in the first place. I did enjoy the conversations back in the day but saw long before SNP did what was becoming of this site and so many others. I only know of one that has somehow managed to keep the same spirit it had when I joined it.
It would be nice for this site to be as it was back in the day, there was a lot of fun times and the support from each other was awesome. It only takes one to ruin it though and until that one is either gone or tamed it will never change. Thats sad, but true!
