I had a dig in the cupboard just to prove our jelly is your jello...

Mostly we have jam or preserve/conserve over here. The jam type jelly isn't very popular.

I always go with...

jam is made with fruit,
jelly is made with the juice of fruit,
and jell-o is flavoured gelatin

marmalade is just odd

I just find it funny that we're supposed to speak the same language but we often get confused 'cos we call things by different names.

I don't have a problem with american english spelling now 'cos I see it so often, but it's confusing for kids who do a lot of surfing and keep getting their spelling corrected in school...

I like marmalade, the one with the chunky bits in it.
