Annie, yes.

I've been bummed because Annie's Peace Pasta and Parmesan has been temporarily out of stock for a while now. There are a few other varieties that look like they'd be funny, too, but I just think the peace pasts would be the best. I so want to get her a box just for fun.

it's only commercial if you fall into the trap of buying silly, expensive, mean nothing crap. a valentine requires reflection. reflection upon that persons desires and the desires they instill in you. sort of a symbol of your love and affection...or you could just pick up the first season of star trek: TNG...either way.

i don't know what i shall do for that guy i'm dating...this requires thought.

No... its great way of showing love and reflecting upon your relationship... if you're a twosome...

If your single... and never likely to ever get a real Valentine... its Commercialised bull shit.

My own grandmother has ruined it for me... until I was 16 my sister and I used to get a Valentine every year from who we presumed was the boy across the street... turns out it was my Nana...

it's funny. when i was single i never hated the holiday simply because i didn't get anything. i still thought it was sweet and i would think that one day i would have a nice one. christmas is commercialize too, but we still seem to enjoy it.

Oh... I think its sweet and I'm hanging on for the day I return home to find 30 red long stemmed roses with my name on it...

But its like snow in Florida... a nice idea.. but never gonna happen.

I get by thinking it as bull shit rather than a reflection of my inadequacies.

This year we will likely exchange cards and a small gift that weekend, but if things can hang together for a few days we plan to go to a local production of Amadeus a weekend or so after, then out for a nice (meaning something besides Waffle House or pizza) dinner.

Couple years ago, we went to a nice, old theatre to see IIIrd Tyme Out and Mountain Heart (bluegrass bands). We both kinda dressed up for the occasion, and we really enjoyed it. I think we were the best dressed couple there actually. During the intermission, we got the chance to talk to Mountain Heart for a few minutes, really nice guys.

V-Day is overly commercialized, no doubt about it. But it is kind of nice to take a day and appreciate your other a little extra. So long as neither is swept up in unrealistic expectations from the other on the laying out of the payroll. Something reasonable, OK, but the extravagent probably won't be happening here.

As soon as you stop thinking that way - good things will happen. :)

You know...based on your previous post I was under the impression it was a plant :lloyd:

:lol2: no, definitely not a plant. it's a big thing here in montreal. a lot of people have them. the fun of being able to put whatever charms you want on them and all is fun. plus, they're unisex.

I prefre giving live flowering plants over cut flowers anyday. :D

Usually...I just create my own card, with my own words in it. It's personal in a way that Hallmark will never be.

This year, we'll be in Petawawa visiting my bro-in-law. With any luck, I can get him to babysit while I take MrsBish to a nice supper somewhere :D

I have always hated Valentine's Day. SO has Erik. This year we are going to try and reverse that feeling. I dunno what we will do since we are trying to save up money, but I am sure that just being with him will be enough.

I'm getting my fiancee what every woman wants...a new vaccuum. :D BTW...if that doesn't work out, is there anybody nearby I can stay with? :grinyes:

If I get her any more bracelets, she won't be able to lift her arm...
