We seem to make a habit of getting things wrong don't we? :eh:
Unfortunately, it happens alot. That's why I question all the people that consider out of doubt the validity of this war... Only time will tell if it was good or not, but I can't see good thing coming out of it...

Basically Chomsky talks about how the US goverment manipulates their people's minds in order to get their support, to accomplish this they use lies, deceives, neurolinguistic programming, etc etc.

People would accept the most obvious lies, and when they find out otherwise they just won't care 'cause they are already believing another lie.

This thread is the prime example of it.

Haven't read him but I find that to be deceitful. It's not the American government, it's every government. It's hard to keep (fill in population here) people happy.

Maybe over there but there are some helluva big fights going on in the press and government over here at the moment about the crap we were told to justify the war...

You guys see what i mean?, now it is a good thing to be deceived because everybody else does it. Your goverment is great isn't it?

All the more point to make government as small as possible. It's not an excuse, it a reason, albeit a piss poor one.

Chomsky has been telling that for years, i think there's an interview in BBC (realaudio), you'll find it easy if you search for him.

IMO, The less the number of guys knowing the truth, the easier to lie.

Small do you mean the time it lasts?

Not necessarily. Small as in, leave the peopel alone & let them go about their daily lives. Government should be in business to handle national security, international affairs & making sire the roads aren't shit. Other than that, they are taking on private industry & moral obligation that aren't their concern.

As long as you define clearly what is national security. One could think making wars to secure markets and ensure the economy is fine could be classified as a matter of national security...

It also depends upon whom you're talking to...

BTW...All my bad guys pointed to one organization...led by one particular person when they all started out. Can you guess who?

I still think Swiss Cheese is sharper than Cheddar.

You've obviously never had vintage chedder.... takes the roof off your mouth. With smoked ham and Branston pickle you can't go wrong... :licklips:

Swiss is sissy cheese compared to the sharpness of a good aged cheddar... :D...Provalone doesn't even register on the 'sharp' scale.
