Nuke the leak?

Once again, people are asking for the federal government to get involved. This might be a job for the feds, but the government does not have anybody more specialized for this than BP.

Why have Obama show up? It'll cause more commotion than needed. If they need the President to say kind words (or act displeased, or whatever) they need to get a life.

it ain't about the feds, unless they Do try to nuke it, which would be bad imo.

This is an election year and this is going to be ridin'.
It's about pressure and the 'I' word on other things.

Then there's a Money factor. I could go on for a while on that one.

Oh, there's gonna be news, tripe, and some sound opinion.
It's going to be around for a loooong time now.

Re: Nuke the Commies

Holy shit
they went on for years about Katrina
If there was a Republican in office this would be
a total disaster that we would never hear the end of.

With Osama in the White House this is a great reason
to pillory the oil companies and stop all American
offshore drilling while the Chinese drill a hole in every
square inch of the gulf coast.

Just how fucked up is this country?

Buy more terrorist oil!

I see right there in the Constitution where he has the power
to halt American oil drilling NOT

I missed the part where he can stop all the other countries.

This is after all a British Petroleum well that is leaking.

jeebus Christ someone make this stop! Please!

AP - BP hoped to know as early as Thursday afternoon if a stream of mud will finally end its Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a five-week disaster that was putting other U.S. offshore drilling projects on hold as far away as Alaska.

I'll make one deduction...
The pressure from just the depth has to be pretty high, so the pressure
coming out of the rig has to be way, way up there.

apparently that assumption is wrong...
Bill Hemmer just said the pressure was low, but still persists.
I wonder what 'low' is in relation to.???

the leak is the end of the world, stop the drillin'

I don't give to shits about the oil well
the private enterprise company will handle that
what I want to stop is the Osammie regime!

How much would your gallon of gasoline cost if tomorrow
the Government completely de-regulated the oil industry
a and lifted all taxation of said product?

Oh I know the very next day all the roads would cease to exist
and by early next week we’d all be killed by the evil oil industry.

Don’t deny me my right wing crack pipe fantasies
they are all I’ve got left.

It worked wonders, before the banks got shoved around by Congress (read Barney Frank)...

"give loans to those who can't afford them & sell them to a demi-governmental agency (Fannie) or we'll write new laws & make you keep the bad paper"

Blame obammie for the oil spill

Now now Gonzie our mullato leader just passed some more laws
that will make sure there isn’t a problem with that 52 trillion
dollars of bad debt the banks are carrying around on their books.

I think it involves your as of yet unborn great great great grandchildren.

Why hasn't Osammie staunched the flow, Yo?

Most sources I've read say the Soviets had 5 successes and 1 failure in this regard. What I can't find is the size in megatons of the devices used, proximity to populated areas, and harmful side-effects. Anyone?
Do y'all think the solution would be worse than the problem? The problem's pretty damn bad.
If (and that's a big if) it would work and not be more damaging in the long run than a continual leakage, shouldn't we put politics aside and do what has to be done? We paid a helluva lot for nuclear weapons, and set a lot of them off just for show over the years. Now that there's a practical use and need for exploding one, let's don't sissy up now.

:glasses:

I think it could be worse in that....
as of the moment they have something to work with sticking out of the ground.
If they nuke it, and it doesn't stop, what then?
