One Victory

As I said, to what purpose? A male/female group may become a family. A male/male or female/female never can. Personally, I don't think a male/female without the intention of forming a family should be married. Doesn't make any sense .... until you bring money into it.

ok to you marriage means kids, or posibilty there of, to me in means a union of love

No, to me a marriage a fusion, for the purpose of providing a solid, stable foundation to build a family upon. A union of love is only part of it. You and Nat love each other.

And, for me, there is no divorce. Marriage is irrevocable. A total, absolute commitement of each for the other. Precisely, it is the end of I.

uhmm dude

some past tense please, we are still friends

/me stands next to Paul, and PT.

Given that we are getting more and more evidence that some aspects of a gay life-style are hard-coded (cf the new 'scent' study), I think it is very relevant to consider the privilege of marriage, and who is entitled to this privilege. I am more than a little biased, I'll admit. I don't give a donkey's ass about marriage, and never plan on doing it myself, but I have a choice. Gay people in many parts of the world don't have the luxury that I have - to turn down a lifestyle of marriage with their loved ones. I think it is astounding that so many people will judge a person's love by whether they stick things in holes or not. :lol2: Further, there is overwhelming evidence in the animal kingdom that there are many different kinds of family units - the 'nuclear' ma and pa gig certainly isn't the only love-trap out there. I'd say kudos to Nebraska for taking the first steps forward to a better world. Let gays have marriage, or at least, let them have the CHOICE. :swing:

And there you're trying to impose your personal beliefs on others. If the JWs come to your house and try to do the same to you, I'll bet you get pissed. My sense is: If your not gay, why do you care?

It is their lifestyle I feel we should let them be equal and be able to marry each other if they choose to

Ya see therein lies the rub.

I wunder if you pro gay marriage folks just don't understand our position on this matter.

Believe me, our side knows where you folks are coming from.

You're right. People should just leave it alone. Marriage has worked for some 5000 years without homosexuals needing to add to the mix.

add what? Equal rights to marry the one they want to within reason? If people actually left it alone and let them live their lives and shit would there be a problem?

If they left it alone & lived their lives without trying to change the rules there wouldn't be a problem. Homosexuals have every right to marry. They just need to change to an opposite sex partner. Same as it's always been.

No Gonz you neanderthal
just cuz that's the way you did things back in the
mesozoic era doesn’t mean it is right!
Get with the times!
Besides how are you affected when all of the institutions
of society are torn down around your very ears? Sheesh!

Unless you count Greeks which endorsed homosexuality. Plus other countries have legalised the gay marriage and nothing bad has happened to them. Why do they need to change to an opposite sex to marry? It doesnt seem right or equal I can marry my girlfriend if I choose but a gay man cant marry the one he is committed to
