Bush May Endorse Iraq Intelligence Review
2 hours ago

By KATHERINE PFLEGER, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - The White House is considering endorsing the creation of an independent commission that would investigate whether the United States used faulty intelligence information when it decided to go to war in Iraq, government sources said Saturday.
They said a statement of support from the White House could come this week.
Until now, President Bush has reacted coolly toward the idea of a new commission, refusing to endorse it publicly. But his administration is under mounting election-year pressure to agree to an independent inquiry about Iraq's alleged arsenal of banned destruction.

Can you say scapegoat? I knew that you could.

they've known since May

so they've had a lot of time to figure out who the best one would be :retard:

'It was known in May,' Albright said last week, 'that no one was going to find large stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons. The only people who did not know that fact was the public

Crosss examination:
Madame Albright, did you not believe that saddam had weapons? In fact did you yourself not say
"Saddam's goal ... is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed." -- Madeline Albright, 1998
Since there were no inspections during the rest of your term as Secretary of State & saddam never released information to the UN Security Council providing proof of destruction, wouldn't it be safe & logical to believe he still had what you thought he had?

And for the record Mizz Albright, you are not part of the governement any longer. Why are you still talking to the press as though you actually know anything?

chcr, why must an investigation into our intelligence community be equated with a scapegoat? Is it not obvious that there is a problem? The problem coming, of course, from our assumptions, without having actually seen the current & past intel information, which may yet prove correct.

pssssssst Gonz :p
The claim is confirmed by other sources, as well as figures like David Albright, a former UN nuclear inspector with close contacts in both the world of weapons inspection and intelligence.

of course, I'll be more than happy to throw his works around too;

Gaps in Iraq's Nuclear Story. The most significant gap in the action team's knowledge concerns how close Iraq was to building a nuclear weapon.

You may also wish to look at the table presented before the Center for Non-Proliferation STudies. His is the first one on Nuclear weapons.

:p

the authority in this country need to be run down and trampled by a herd of stampeding elephants being attacked by hornets and an array of other stinging insectsand be tied to a tree surrounded by a circle of llamas with a habit of spitting on people, and slapped merclessly across the face with large bass or freshwater fish of another sort.

Show me one piece of verifiable evidence that they intentiionally misled us & I'll lead the charge. Until then, I believe Bush was acting with the best interest of the USA in mind.

You know, I'm reasonably certain you're reading at least some of the same stuff I do. None of the reasons originally cited for the war have materialized. I just don't understand how you can blithely ignore the obvious, but more power to you. Maybe head in the sand obtuseness is the only way to deal with politics in America anymore. I'm just not going to argue with you about it anymore.

Shouldn't it be the other way around ? They(Bush Administration) should have to produce Verifiable proof for the Invasion ,rather than "we believed" or "we heard" ,they obvoiously didn't have verifiable proof before going in because they haven't produced any.

Before the War any evidence such as Satellite photos of a guarded enclosure was rebuked as normal activity ,instead of defending their evidence they simply pulled something else out of their ass(a meeting in Nigeria as an example) ,only to have it discounted too.Their continuence to produce evidence they weren't willing/able to defend says volumes ,unless you have your head in the sand.IMHO

It appears that you 2, among others, are just bound & determined to ignore what we did. WHat was that you ask....we removed a genocidal government. We ended 25 years of oppression & tyranny. We unearthed over 300,000 murdered civilians. We have made an entire region of the world safer. We are in the process of democratizing an Arab country against all odds.

Screw it, I'm tired of teh fight.

The world is safer today than 1 year ago & people like you can sit around & complain, thanks to our actions.

Are you totally discarding Powell's appearence before the UN in which he portrayed an Iranian's 10 year old term paper as current intelligence and proof that Iraq had these weapons? Give it up Gonz...BUSH IS A MURDEROUS LIAR...You don't get to say "oops...our bad.." when this many lives have been sacrificed. :hmm:

:cuss: And just WHAT actions did you take other than endorse Bush's lies and cheerlead while other people died?

OUR = THE UNITED STATES MILITARY...

I really wish you'd let the hatred go so you could see.
