If you'd been paying attention at the time, the Reagan administration was shocked when the Soviet Union collapsed. To be fair, they did keep the economy propped up pretty well for a while, although it left George the first in a pickle.

didnt Reagan also increase the national debt? that would be what left George in the hole if that was the case wouldnt it
