My government is a Republic, not a democracy. The Constitution demands it.

Article IV, Section. 4.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.

The word "Democracy" appears NOWHERE in the Constitution of the United States.

For the record, the word "Democracy" appears nowhere in the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights, either.

So would it have been "racism" if the two figures standing outside the polling place, intimidating voters with an exposed weapon, were Klansmen in full regalia?

I agree with you. We should leave those people under the thumb of dictators and let them be thrown from tall buildings, have limbs cut off, and run through rape rooms. What business is it of ours as long as the likes of Saddam, et al, are only killing, raping, and maiming his own people? We should butt out and do what they do -- ignore the UN resolutions and continue business as usual.
