To think that you are the first or that it isn't at least a little bit justified is a touch arrogant. I didn't start the thread, and niether did Prof. I only added my 2 cents because you actually believe that people listen to you because you have 'facts'. Your facts have never been backed up with data that can be verified, your sources never show where they got their data, and when data is posted by a trusted site, you ignore it, and continue galavanting down your path of self-righteousness. You even reference the bible when you think it will benefit you, even though you denigrate it every time it is used to bolster the opposing view. :shrug: Sounds like pure hypocrisy to me, so the phrase 'you're not that important' certainly describes you, to me...

Many people seem to forget that behind every avatar there is a real person... often in a forum people behave very differently than how they do in RL... sometimes forums bring out the worst in us.

I think its time we bring this character assassination and witch hunt to an end.
 
The huntress & character assassin is not "we". Thus, a thread to attempt to reach across the aisle & offer an insight to the RW was, and is, turned down, often with ridicule & contempt. At some point such traits get returned.

Ah Winky, once more you fail to grasp the point. Nuclear doesnt mean arms outright, here in NZ we oppose nuclear power as well, assuming you have heard of this method before???? Ya know, the same shit that happened over in Russia, well we dont want that happening here. Though I suppose this is typical of Americans, always thinking war war war, instead of thinking with their heads.

Oh and btw, being a minority is just fine by me, we stick out of the crowd more, not one of the mindless masses.

They're only 3 million people spread out over an area equivalent to the size of Georgia and Florida. Its cost to start up and maintain would be more trouble than its worth. Besides, they have so many alternate expolitable sources to play with that work better where they are; wind, hydro, natural gas and geothermal.

The only place large enough to support a nuke plant would be Auckland. Starting a nuke plant costs a few billion. Starting a hydro dam costs a fair bit less and is easily supplemented with natural gas. Hydro dam, no pollution, lots of power.
 
I like hydro. Same with solar & wind. Many stupid birds & fishes are killed by these unsightly slaughterhouses. Nuke plants have no moving parts from which our animal brethern would be maimed or killed. ;)

Gonz is right, unc...Wind Power is definitely not for the birds...;)
 
I wonder if there are places where the wind is fierce and constant enough to put a fixed funnel-like tube with about 20 turbines in a row inside. There has to be some mountain pass somewhere that is a real howler. With a gently constricting tube the wind force and speed would be greater.

...of course that ^ all souds just like a hydro turbine design for small scale rivers and whatnot. Wind is just too flaky to be consistent... unless some seriously long term storage batteries are designed.
