The Budget

Yes, it is.

The first thing is to get government out of the damned way.

liberals want to suck on the government teat. conservatives thing the government keeps them from some other magical teat. it's all just a bunch of excuses. a bum is a bum, and a success is just that. people succeed or fail by themselves. adapt to your environment. or be content to just get by. but it is your choice. nobody is standing in your way but you.

doesn't matter what you call it. you are still being denied something, right? thanks for acknowledging the critical component.

what chances did you never have?

I can tell you that, due to local regulations, my wife will not be starting a business, as planned. The expense for hardware more than quintupled, because the regulations won't alow the lesser expensive pieces of machinery.

However, my remark was in response to yours. The magical teat that you speak of isn't magical at all. More businesses have a chance of starting, or expanding, if the government doesn't set up regulatory loopholes & expenses. Allow newcomers to directly compete. I don't want a tax break. I'm not asking for the larger companies to be forced to do something additional. I just don't want to spend $50,000 on something when I could get by with one that costs $10,000.

Do the right thing

well that's too bad that your wife is having that issue.

if her business plan is really solid, she should be able to interest some venture capital. like many do that start businesses requiring more than a shoestring budget. i may be forced to do the same at some point not too far off.

i've not seen that obama clip before, but, ouch. what's he thinking?

so yeah good point with respect to the wife's business. what kind of machine is it anyway?

i would still generally disagree, in the sense that many businesses enjoy special loopholes. especially big ones. gov is not standing in their way.

but specifically, agreed. small business should be a priority in the sense of gov not getting in the way.

LOL, I think you've missed many relevant "clips."

Fact is creating new small business, or even keeping existing ones open, is difficult due to an over burden of regulations and taxes here in cali. We're hemorrhaging small business' here. -- more regs and taxes will surely cure the ills.

Dept of Energy Reduction. lol

A stove. She's been looking into a creating small eatery & bakery.

In fact, we've had several small eateries around here close because the
local regulators initially okayed the plan, only to come back later & inform
them of the mistake. One guy had a Cuban sammich shop. Didn't even use
the oven. He had to buy one anyway. Tamales, steaming on a 6 burner
non-commercial grade cooktop? Oh. hell, no. It must be a $40,000. less
efficient model.

Then there's the cake & pie cooling racks.

The point is, government does more to get in the way than is necessary.
They're now talking about 56MPG vehicles. How much wood can I haul in
my pickup with those requirements?

but is that some weird OSHA thing or is it local dummies?

i have a friend in portland who just closed his restaurant. he had a roasting oven, but could not afford to bring the place up to code to install anything else. not that he had the money for that anyway. he couldn't boild water... but methinks he was done in by poor planning more than anything else.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

“The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

“The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

:usa:

i would prefer to substitute "mr. hanky, the christmas poo" for every mention of the enemy.

This place would be Zimbabwe if left to you tribal retromales.

Here is the thing. It is not the grunting savages that made for the US becoming what it is. Jefferson was a scholar, not fucking dumbass plumber.

Yes. That is correct. Strangely enough the thinking behind the constitution comes right outta what at the time was a very learned and forward thinking group of folks. And I don't just mean Americans, but those who influenced them as well. It is really too bad they didn't stick to the long established scriptures of the day. They like us do not need change or new thought.

There has only been one set of correct ideas throughout history, and that is what daddy taught us on his knee. One need only become a plumber and repeat what father said.

Retromale one signing out.
