Nothing special at home...too bad I don't have a box with a GUI at the DC. 100Mb full duplex, only because our upstream switch ports are only 10/100. Of that, our 95th percentile is <.5Mb

It's funny. We're sitting here at the datacenter, (we scheduled an outage window for this weekend), one of the most wired buildings in the Twin Cities, connecting to our servers, <100M away, via a cell tether. We were supposed to have a wired conference room for the entire weekend, but the goblins/ops in the NOC decided they don't want to unlock it for us. But...we're welcome to use the break/vending room on the 3rd floor :lfap:. That being said, this cell connection is really fast, considering that there are two of us using it.

My main system is wired. I'll test my laptop (wifi) right now...

I'll game on my system while my son games on his (same connection but he's wifi) & my wife will do
her thing (also wired) & nobody is the wiser

similar setup here, but w/6 connections (3 heavy gamers)
(wired through Giga-lan router, but w/surfboard 5120 cable modem)

I have one wireless G, through usb, connecting to a separate WRT54GS
setup as just a switch.
(have been looking at DD-WRT firmware, but don't really need it atm)

My contract is for 16Mbps down, and 1 up, so it's not too bad at 20/d :)

I do remote desktop with a comp about 50 miles away, several times a week,
and it's quite smooth most of the time.

finally after 5 days, and 5 techs, I got one on the regular maintenance crew,
with a bucket truck, that really knew what he was doing.
He followed it all the way back to the main sub-station (about 1/4 mile),
and found a big leak due to a main sheathing crack.

I even went to Tiger and got a new Motorola sb6120 modem w/DOCSIS 3.0

Pretty decent now though.
Wish the offered more upload though.

I have the same modem. I like how 192.168.100.1 has that nice status page for it. When I signed up for comcast, they told me I had to get triple play with the phone. 90/mo for tv phone and internet, plus 7 for modem rental and 8 in various fees. It was that EMTA modem with a phone line, and they said I needed the phone to get the lower promotional price of 89.99/mo. After 2 months I bought the motorola modem and after a few phonecalls, webchats, and a visit to their store, I was able to end the modem rental and cancel phone and saved 28 bucks a month total. I hadn't even been using the phone since they gave me someone else's number who had apparently cancelled his landline phone but didn't change anything over properly, so I was getting 3-5 wrong number and automated dialer calls a day.

I had the older sb5120 I got when they first came out.
Rental even then was 10 bucks/mo, and I've had it now near 5 years
so it more than paid for it's self, but it was topping out at 20-22 down.
I don't even know if it had docsis. The interface looks identical to the db6120,
but doesn't have the extra settings.

I'm please with it now, so far.
They want me to get a package with phone, but I've heard many horror stories about the phone.
