PostCode - people tend to discount the Bible, because people who use the bible as a weapon tend to only take the parts that suit them in effect when they're arguing. The bit that bothers me, and probably TankGirl as well, is that there is a difference between you saying that you believe X is X and using the the bible as your proof and the law of the land doing the same thing and mandating it.
If you do it..it's your personal opinion, and although I may or may not disagree with how you feel...it's your beliefs and I'll respect that.
If the GVT does it...it's law, it does affect me and millions of others who may or may not disagree with it...it's their (GVT) beliefs overwhelming mine and I cannot respect that.

See the nice lady...she's been blinded to represent equality before the courts as well as justice before the courts.
She cannot tell if you're black, white, male, female, your age, your sexuality, or anything else about you...she HAS to apply the same laws equally to all. That's justice.
If one group is less equal than others..it shouldn't be because of the law making them less than equal. That's injustice.

My posts within this thread have absolutely nothing to do with what Canada has done. They everything to do with tg bashing on Christianity.
If a person wants to be a homosexual, fine. That's their personal preference and I respect that. I do not condone the behavior, but I do not tell them they are wrong either. They are old enough to make their own choices. I never once said a person can or cannot do it. Not once. Just because I believe in the Bible and express my opinion on the matter does not mean that I ignore the law of man.
My posts in this thread have been in counter to the bashing of anyone who believes in Christ and the continued hypocrisy of one person who claims to respect it yet continues to bash it.

Truth is plain & simple. That's why it is the truth. Liberalism & all its fellow -isms need long drawn out explanations to find an inkling of truth in their regurgitated pap.

ah, I only bash because I am of a highly critical nature and also feel that it is entirely healthy to bash what would otherwise, unchallenged, pass off as common sense.
There is a difference between "respect" and "criticism" and that is the person that gets so sensitive about it because underneath they probably realise that you only have to look around to see that "god" is far from "perfect", and vulnerable to the TRUTH which is, nothing.
And y'know, "common sense", and "truth" are only 'sensible and truthful to the mindless who are gullible enough to follow the masses without second thought about WHY they are doing it.... because the powers that be say so - any dissenting voices have held little or no force in order to get people to even consider thinking about things and why they believe certain things differently.

Let me make sure I have this straight... every religious person on earth is religious because it was "spoon fed" to them. Not one person ever did research and decided on their own that God exists, based on evidence. All religious people are sheep who cannot think for themselves but rather repeat quotes from the Sunday Sermon.
