The stakes have gotten higher over the last 400 years.

How?

Life or death haven't changed much since queen bess's times - but the methods sure have gotten generally less painful.

Today's brutality can't hold a candle in de bleedin wind to cathoilic v pretestant in them times.

Why must you insist that this country be identical to everywhere else?

... Ireland...now there's a peaceful tranquil place to live.

... Everywhere else wants what we have. I can't ever remember wanting to be like ...

I'll take that bet. Considering his polling numbers are well above some other candidates that's a silly bet on your part.

I do question her effectiveness in negotiating with other nations, Islamic or anything else, who may not respect women as our society does.

Golda Meir (1898-1978) Israel

Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) India

Margaret Thatcher (1925-)England

Benazir Bhutto (1953-)Pakistan

Kim Campbell (1947-) Canada

ETC...

Seems that the US is one of the few that hasn't had a Woman leader.

Funny you should say that, as the President has very little to do "directly"with negotiations ,the Secretary of State usually does the face-face .{cough} Condi{cough}

:hmm: Kinda funny when you consider that women vote in larger numbers than men, innit? :hmm:

BTW...

Apparently changing ones mind isn't a disqualification for being President though.

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

Who wants to bet that he's the first to drop out of the race?
First?, That would be betting. I'm not sure how much money he has backing.
That'll probably be the determining factor, first. I'm sure he won't have the jack
to really go against Hillary. (unless someone/org steps up  )

India and Pakistan were already kinda democratized though weren't they?

What about Saudi A, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, and all the other surrounding
mid-eastern countries.

Although there have been several "Queens". I'm not sure of the power factor there though.

I have seen Several Women in top business positions, that I though would
make excellent, to be pres., as far as domestic, and Some foreign affairs.
I just haven't seen anything close in politics yet.:hippy:

Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as it seems to be ;)

Call me old fashioned (but don't fit me for a Burka just yet) but I feel that some decisions are better left up to a man.

Say what you will. I just don't see Sheik Abudabudimitwistibeeniejad entering into negotiations with a woman when he keeps his 41 wives imprisoned inside the Royal Goat Tent all day.
