just because I'm not wearing a uniform does NOT mean I have less right to an opinion on this matter than you do.

I never said you didn't. Cool off and re-read. I made that statement on knowledge of war...nothing else.

As for you, LL, you're still young.

didn't say I was going to, but it would solve a lot of problems if I did.
I would definately try to join the airforce...but I'll probably won't...

don't listen to much to what I say...I'm having a really bad day...

I was kinda thinking you didn't seem like yourself today. Anything you want to talk about, PM me.

For those of you who care to know, I'll tell you what my primary job is in times of war.

My job is to get on a C-17, fly to a forward area with other people in my career field, and set up/run a cargo terminal. The number one target in any war. We are trained to not only defend that terminal, but to also resupply any army, navy, marine, or other air force unit in our immediate area. Once the area has been 'pacified', we can either become a strategic resupply base, or we move forward and do the same job all over again. Most of our living areas are tents, and most of our food is MRE's. Our normal 'package' consists of several types of forklifts, and other heavy-lift vapable cargo vehicles. Look up "Mobile Aerial Port" in Google, and they may have something...

A bit of history...

My unit was the first Aerial Port unit into Somolia, the first Aerial Port unit into Tuzla AB in Bosnia, and one of the first into Desert Storm.

Thanks for sharing Gato! I appreciate it.

Shadowfax, I hope you don't mind me taking your quote... ;)

Oh, you ask for him, and just take mine?

He isn't feeling himself today. You hm, you are different. I suppose going through this process makes you act a little different, but the way you put it was so funny... Of course I hope you don't mind ;) If you do, PM and I will get something else hehe.

Oh, and I didn't mean to get this thread off topic even more than it already was. It's quite an achievement, Gato.

I honestly respect you for that.

I will not argue that you have far superior balls than I do. I really do respect the military with all my heart.

Solo-
I totally respect your opinion on this matter. I'm not nor have i ever been in the military. I do come from a military family and i have the greatest respect for our armed forces. My father served in vietnam
bigredone_small.gif
67-68 and i know what that kind of a war can do to a person. I haven't served but i lived a pretty fucked up life in early years and i know first hand what death is. I know what violence is and i know what a bullet does to ones face. For these reasons i do not wish to see one American serviceman die. ALL life is valuable. But as you know i have another perspective on the matter. That being Israel. From my perspective Israel is a part of America. They have fought and died for the same reasons Americans have. During the 6 day war every able bodied israeli male between the ages of 18-58 served to protect themselves from the attacking racist Arab world. Only this time they can't do it or they'll fire up the entire Arab world against them. They are a brave democratic people worth defending. hundreds of thousands of American citizens live in Israel today. Despite what some may think my mind is not totally decided on his matter but i believe we should leave the door open to as much discussion as possible. I would submit to you that we will not be better off however if saddum unleases a nuclear weapon on the west bank or israel. Sure if that happened we would have the support of Europe but by then it would be too little to late. Yes if we go into this thing half heartedly it could end up like another vietam and no american want's another horrific 10 years of that! But if our commander in chief makes the decision then we can do this correctly(swift & hard) by letting the military do its job without politcal interference it doesn't have to be another vietnam. Also i would NEVER suggest that we do a job if we weren't fully prepared. Let the military take the time in needs. There is no rush. In the mean time the UN can fuck around all it wants and if it comes up with a non-violent solution in the meantime and inspecters sucessfully go into Iraq unabstructed then GREAT. All the better for all of us. That to me however just doesn't seem plausible. But again i do respect you opinion and feel that you've given the strongest debate yet for reasons not to attack.

Come on, Gato. You know you fly boys stay in 4 star hotels after you get back from making a bombing run :D .

LL, you should enlist in the Marine Corps;).
