The right war, in the right place, at the right time

yeah see, even though there's still strife there, I consider that a win in that battle.
That was one objective, and it was met.

yeah we got that one guy. and all those years we were gettin' him we blissfully ignored a destabilizing economy, as well as a ton of other more different bad guys. of course we never got THE REAL BAD GUY because we were bumbling around with, um, an indirect strategy HA HA HA fucking HA.

I'll go half and half with that, but I don't know how much the economy There was destabilized,
because I don't know how stable it was before hand.
Here some of us knew we were going to be in trouble when Cheney said money didn't matter.
Context sure, but that statement was too wide open, and dangerous in thinking it.
War cost big money, and some of us knew the longer it went, and is going the more it's gonna cost.
Cost Big too.
I like Cheney, and did trust him at the time, but he was wrong on that.

it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur

Why is that not a great sight? A clear cut victor & a clear cut loser. Peace ever since. Beats the current rules of engagement policy of RUN! if you see civilians which means ongoing conflict with no clear cut anything.

ORLY? that's obama's main thing huh? you must have a direct line to the whitehouse then.

so then it's back to
dummy dummy dum dum obama don;t have no strategy
(but a non-strategy was fine when we had our home tam idiot in the white house)

I do know that Gibbsey said: "the number of hours that he has spent in these meetings is probably now -- well, at the end of today will probably be getting close to 20 direct hours of his time.

"I think he has spent quite a bit of time after the meetings back in the office -- back in his office, probably primarily in the Residence at night, going back and reading through his notes, as well as -- notes that he's taken on the meetings, and oftentimes will come out with questions that the team will prepare the answers for, for the next meeting."

Pathetic. He has applied himself to 20 hours out of the last 9 months considering what to do in Afghanistan. I'm sure we can expect a "brilliant" decision at any moment.

Clear cut victor and loser is nice. Not going to happen in Afghanistan.

Move them up 800 years & have them police their state & prosecute terrorists is a clear cut statement of victory.

Oh yeah? How long do you see that taking?

The Constitution didn't enumerate that stuff either.

"provide for the common defense"

Obama Requests More Options for Troop Levels

The Washington post reported two officials as saying late Friday Obama asked the Pentagon's top generals to provide him with more options for troop levels in Afghanistan.
Maybe after Corzine gets defeated the President can get back to being the CiC and not worry about little things like state elections.

Obama trie... 'er lied, soldiers died.
