My slant was more on what she was doing prior to her disappearance. I keep hearing the word 'socializing', but my brain keeps interpreting it as 'drunk'...:shrug:
 
You can't just go out in public, possibly even socializing or drinking, and expect not to get abducted*.

Hyphenated last name implies she is married. She's out at 2 AM on a Saturday morning. Ten bucks says if she had been home with her husband she wouldn't be missing.

America's Most Wanted
Michelle Gardner-Quinn, a 21-year-old senior attending the University of Vermont, vanished in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 10, 2006. Michelle was last seen at around 2:15 AM on Main Street in Burlington, walking back to her dorm room alone. She was on her way back to campus after celebrating a friend's 21st birthday. But cops say she never made it.

Michelle's parents were in town for Parents Weekend and reported her missing the next day after she failed to show up for dinner. According to officials, there is no indication that Michelle left on her own free will.


Time Is Essential
The Burlington Police Department, UVM authorities, canine teams, the Vermont State Police, and the FBI are all searching for clues in the disappearance of Michelle. Investigators have been working around the clock following leads, but at this time no suspects have been identified. Family and friends are also helping out by handing out and posting flyers all over the area. Others are assisting law enforcement officials by helping search the area for any clues that might help find Michelle.


Police Search For Vehicle
At this point, police are searching for a "vehicle of interest." Around the same time and place that Michelle was last seen, a man reportedly tried to lure a woman into his car, but she refused. Police say the man was a white male in his 20s wearing a grey hoodie sweatshirt and a light colored baseball cap. He was driving a "Subaru-type" hatchback vehicle.

Michelle is 5 feet 8 inches tall, and approximately 135 pounds. She has a stud piercing in her nose and was last seen wearing a gray peacoat, green button-up cardigan sweater, a light blue t-shirt, and a black Puma purse with white straps.

Michelle's family, friends, and the enitre community want to see her come home safe. Hopefully the information that was gathered so far, along with law enforcement officials and the assisting public, will help crack the case and bring back Michelle.

One of the first lessons little girls learn is to avoid walking alone. Friend can mean a human or Smith & Wesson.

Women can't walk alone? Damn, that'd make it hard to get around.

My mom used to tell me how she would take a bus like two blocks, or take a really roundabout route, or get a guy to walk her and her friends places, just to avoid going into the 'bad' areas alone.

It's a damn shame that nobody walked her home either... and that nobody noticed until the next night.

Damnit, why would you let a young girl walk home alone? That ain't right. She should have gotten a ride, or someone to walk with her. Her friends should have called not too long afterwards to make sure she was alright. If she was expected to take 10 minutes, they should call at 15 minutes, and again at 20, and if she still doesn't pick up, call the police.

Have we forgotten that folks should be able to walk wherever they want whenever they want without some shit like this happening?
