    A whole division surrenders

I'm picturing the French surrendering to all those displaced Iraqi POWs...

    French u-turn on iraq war

If the Iraqis use chemical weapons and the French do offer to "help", I'd like to see the US and its allies publicly politely decline. Thanks, but no thanks, go back to your whine and cheese, and no, those oil contracts you signed with Saddam will NOT be honored, Monseiur Chirac..

    The opposite of D-day

I agree. It's why they made a public spectacle of testing the MOAB, of calling the war tactic "shock and awe", and why they've been doing psyops for some time now. Regardless of the actual amount of force in the field, if you give the Iraqis the impression that an unbelievable amount of hell...

    Children of Dune

Part 1 wasn't bad.. Didn't have to suspend quite as much disbelief as in the first Dune miniseries. Looking forward to Part 2 tonight.

Anyone looking forward to Riverworld on SciFi next Sat?

I am.. I read some of the books (by Philip Jose Farmer) years ago, and the premise is quite interesting. I'm hoping they did it well. http://www.scifi.com/onair/scifipictures/riverworld/

Looks like the war starts tomorrow

Well, actually the job of the US military will be to do what's necessary to win the war, not specifically to kill Iraqis and "break their stuff". Of course, if that's what is needed at any given time, then that's what happens. The goal of war isn't to kill as many of the enemy as you can, it's...

    Children of Dune

I just finished watching all three episodes of the first Dune miniseries, and am about to start watching Children of Dune (taped by my Tivo). I think my head's going to explode.. One thing I noticed is that in Dune, the scenes where they show the Harkonnens plotting take an important visual...

    Apathy and its consequences...

Democracy, even our bastardized representative form of it, works only when people participate. Personally, I'd also like to see protestors stop and think about the issues they're protesting, and try to come up with valid ideas and workable solutions in addition to just creating a media spectacle.

    For the Americans

Personally, I think UN approval is more or less irrelevant because the UN is composed of nations who have determined interests in acting against the US in this case.

Looks like the war starts tomorrow

And when it comes down to it, I wish the best of luck to all of the allied forces in the region whose job it is to fight this. May you all come home safe.

    Superbug

It's an arms race between ever more powerful bacteria and viruses and our medical industry, aggravated by antibiotic overuse.

Could U.N. use military force on U.S.?

Don't you just love buzzword cliches and slogans? This action is hardly unilateral and hardly a headlong rush.

    Question - I need a quick answer...

It also saves as a hidden file; I don't think Search will pick that up unless you have Windows set to show hidden files. It would be a good idea to set the autosave feature so that you know where that backup document is going to be when you need it.
