If you're used to them sometimes you don't even feel when there's one.
I chech here often. Every time I think I feel one, I don't... and all the ones that are 3 or below that really do happen, I don't feel.

We had a killer rainstorm last night that's still going strong. The thunder was so loud, I thought we were under some kind of attack. :eek5: Bad part is, the lightning show started in the middle of my sleep, so I'm a bit grumpy today...

Everytime I see the title of this thread I start singing Turin Brakes' song

**edit to add lyrics of sog in my mind:

Pain killer - Turin Brakes

Batten up the hatches, here comes the cold
I can feel it creeping, and it's making me old
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out

You need something better than the bacon and eggs
The creaking in the walls and the banging in the bed
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out

Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind

My love giving me head, feeling very guilty, breaking the bread
Losing my attention, I'm taking the world on
So batten up the hatches, here comes the cold
I can feel it creeping, and it's making me old
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out

Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind

My love, my love, my love, oh my love

Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind

Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind
Leave all this misery behind (summer rain)
Leave all this misery behind (summer rain)
Leave all this misery behind (summer rain)

Tonks and I were driven awake by the Civil Defense alarms at 713 am this morning... bleh.

Apparently there is a super fast, super windy, supercell storm producing nickel sized hail in the southern half of the county moving east through the city. It missed us by about 2 miles, but we got one hell of a lightning show.

The trick is to never stare directly into the bolts. You have to protect your eyes with a strip of photo negative, folded double.

And wrap your head in foil...yeah foil...

19 people killed by weather in TN last night. None right around here and I don't think there were any in SnP's area. Pretty intense storm though.

I heard three were killed in Rutherford County...

We almost never get tornadoes here. The Cumberland Plateau usually either breaks them up or pops them up enough that they land on the other side of the Appalachians. When we do get one, it's bad. It comes straight up the valley out of Georgia, and since there's mountains on both sides of us, it ain't got nowhere else to go.

Oh, C'mon. Your t-shirt weather has you in sweaters. You come up here and give me a week to work on you, and you'll never be cold again.
