Overall...it doesn't stop all whackjobs from getting guns...but if it stops half or more...that's a good start, eh

You're joking, right? It stops them getting a legal gun. Christ, we live between two indian reservations. Getting any gun I want .... without a sheet of paper (other than cash) involved, would take me less than an hour.

Registration does two things though.

1) Gives the Police a head's up that a house

Two for two.
I don't want the government knowing what I have in my house. It's none of their business. The registration system is a building block of whose home to invade first.

2) It slows down those who get angry and go to a store to buy a gun.
I disagree with that. A store is typically not the place to shop for a I wanna kill someone gun.

Touchy feely legislation to appease those scared of their shadows. It looks good on paper but last time I checked, (including this time), criminals disregard laws they don't care about.
